Reducing obesity in 2 to 4 year olds

NHS Bedfordshire launches the ‘Get Set and Grow’ to parents in the first week in April, helping them understand and deal with childhood obesity.

The pilot project – researched, developed and produced by Resonant Media – is targeting families with children between the ages of 2 and 4 in three areas of Bedfordshire.

The Get Set and Grow pack has been carefully produced involving local parents and contains information, tools and support around nutrition and exercise.

The branding was also carried out by Resonant Media, with ‘Get set and grow’ rated as an upbeat and empowering way to convey the challenges around diet and exercise in young children.

“The project has been six months in scoping and development,” explains John Isitt, director, Resonant Media. “At every step of the way, we have involved parents and have ensured that the pilot is sustainable, and can be scaled up throughout the county and further afield. We also expect that the project can become self-financing.”

Initial results from evaluation are expected in May.
