Getting serious about
sexual health

Resonant chosen to provide strategic sexual health communications for East London borough.

NHS Tower Hamlets has appointed Resonant Media to create an integrated marketing and communications plan for sexual health in
the borough.

There is significant deprivation in Tower Hamlets. And there’s clear evidence that sexual ill health is linked to deprivation.

The borough has high levels of preventable disease, including sexually transmitted disease and HIV. In 2005, there were 756 residents diagnosed with HIV infection.

According to Improving Sexual Health: A strategy for sexual health and improving health and well-being in Tower Hamlets (2007), sexual health has been prioritised, locally and nationally, as a key objective for sustained improvement in meeting the local communities’ health needs.

Resonant Media director John Isitt said: “We are really excited to be working with NHS Tower Hamlets in this important area. Local residents deserve to understand the risks of sexual ill health and where they can go to get help.”
