Resonant project wins Health and Social Care Award 2009

The successful Diabetes Day to Day campaign took away the Adapt, Adopt and Improve Award at the Health and Social Care Awards, run by the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement.

The awards ceremony, on Wednesday 27 May, celebrated innovation and excellence across health and social care.

The Diabetes Day to Day campaign for NHS Tower Hamlets booked 65% of local people living with diabetes on to education courses in just four months, up from less than 10% in all of 2008 – showing evidence of a clear identification of a service or process that needed to be improved.

The Adapt, Adopt and Improve Award is also judged on demonstration of a robust approach to research for existing solutions, showing critical investigation and appraisal techniques.

Regional winners will now undergo a rigorous judging process by a national panel of experts in the fields of quality, improvement an innovation, headed by David Nicholson, NHS Chief Executive. The panel will select two national finalists and a national winner for each of the 14 award categories.
